Reflections of color and form; landscapes and the human image captivate me. They are ever changing, ever moving. My paintings attempt to capture that energy…a moment in time.

Inspired by the Impressionist artists with their spontaneous use of broken color, and direct application of pigment, I have become primarily an oil pastel painter because of its very forgiving nature and the ease of directly applying the pigment to a variety of surfaces.

While light, color, and energy are strong elements that are communicated in my work, a solid foundation of composition and design are essential components in the final piece.

Capturing the atmosphere and emotion drives my focus.
