Reflections of color and form; landscapes, still life and the human image, ever changing, ever moving, captured energy, and always a moment in time.

Inspired by the Impressionist and Abstract Expressionist artists of the 20th century, I quickly apply layers of colorful pigment directly onto the painting surface, incorporating large energetic strokes to build up the painting.

Whether I choose to use oil bars, oil pastels, soft pastels or even mixed media,
I want to be in touch with my spontaneous and emotional reactions and be empathetically in tune with shapes and color as my first creative priority.

Being classically trained in drawing and painting, I am compelled to look at people first and connect to the energy found in human gestures, but I also
enjoy the ever changing landscape along with the challenges of articulating a classic still life for the fun of infusing energy into inanimate objects.

Painting is visual poetry.  My imagery is derived from the joy of personal life experiences and the sensibilities acquired from years of studying the graceful attributes and intrinsic beauty found in nature.
